On 15 October 1991, the Slovenian Olympic Committee was established. On this day, the Slovenian Olympic Charter was signed at Štihova dvorana, in Cankarjev dom, Ljubljana. In addition to Leon Štukelj and Miro Cerar, 29 delegates from expert associations and Olympic branches were present at the signing, as well as representatives of the five expert association from branches recognised by the IOC.
