SAPPADA-TOLMEZZO DOLOMITES. The Panathlon Club n.500 is a Reality!
The official ceremony for the establishment of the new Dolomiti Sappada-Tolmezzo Club took place on Monday 11 December in Sappada at the Ti Spiazza Restaurant.
National Councilor Mario Ulian, the true factotum of the initiative, delegated by the President of the Italian District Giorgio Costa, opened the session by dedicating a greeting to all those present. He underlined how this important panathletic event was taking place in conjunction with World Mountain Day and in a beautiful and characteristic town in the Dolomites such as Sappada.
He thanked the Councilor for Tourism and Sport of the Municipality of Sappada, as well as our partner, Silvio Fauner for his presence.
Fauner, bringing his greeting, wanted to highlight how Sappada is a mountain town with great champions and particular attention to youth sports. Simple but authentic people united in Friuli-Venezia Giulia for an important journey which, with many volunteer activities, has an important impact on social life. He also assured that with the birth of the new Club, new support activities will be promoted for able-bodied and disabled young people. He also wanted to thank in particular the President Roberto Palmieri and the National Councilor Mario Ulian for having promoted and wanted to bring this new Club into Alto Friuli and Area 12 of FVG.
The official work thus began and Mario Ulian read the letter from the International President Pierre Zappelli and the telephone message from the District President Giorgio Costa who wanted to thank Mario Ulian for the creation of the new Club and hope for a profitable future for the activities and in particular for Sappada’s involvement in the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympics.
Governor Paolo Perin then took the floor and brought his greetings and thanks and illustrated the function and activities of Area 12 FVG. He also congratulated the great champions who, by associating themselves, allowed the opening of the new Club.
The President of the Alto Friuli Club Roberto Palmieri in his speech wanted to underline that there will be great collaboration with the new Club of Sappada and synergy and common work for events and manifestations.
Mario Ulian finally moved on to the presentation of the new President of the Club, Fontana Hoffer Pietro.
The new President also wanted to thank Mario Ulian in particular for his commitment and attention towards Sappada. He anticipated that the Club has important projects for young people and particular attention to the world of disabilities and schools.
There was then the exchange of pennants and various panathletic gadgets and the final greeting from Councilor Mario Ulian.
