The FIVB is delighted to launch the bidding process for the inaugural edition of the FIVB Volleyball Girls’ and Boys’ U17 World Championships, scheduled to take place between 1 and 31 August 2024.
The prestigious tournament will be held every two years with a total of 16 teams per gender participating in an eight-day event with a total of 56 games livestreamed on Volleyball World’s YouTube channel. The competition was introduced by the FIVB to provide more opportunities for talented young volleyball players to participate in world-class, international events.
One quota space will be allocated to the host team, while three quota places will be available per Continental Confederation for teams to qualify via the respective Age Group Continental Championships held in 2023.
Interested parties looking to host this exciting new championship are encouraged to submit their Expression of Interest to volleyball@fivb.com, by no later than 6pm Central European Time on 8 December 2023.
